It’s Halloween at Hanwell Zoo

Tue 23 Oct 2018
There will be no tricks - only treats at Hanwell Zoo over the half term period (20 -28 October) so local people of all ages are encouraged to head down and enjoy the many activities taking place.

Family and friends will be able to challenge each other in some classic games with a Halloween twist in the Pumpkin Playground over the week and younger visitors are invited to guess the animal bones in the newly designed A-scare-ium with a chance to come face to face with the meerkat mob or lemur troop.

The zoo’s keepers will also be on-hand to serve up some Halloween goodies throughout the week to a selection of the animal residents.

There will also be frightening photo opportunities for the whole family to enjoy for only £3.50 per adult and £1.50 per child.

To add to your day why not become your favourite animal at the face painting stall, and make your own animal ears in the Dome of Doom for a small extra fee.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for finance and leisure said: "There are so many fun events happening at Hanwell Zoo over the Halloween half term period - and of course there are the wonderful animals living here, which are worth a visit any time of year."

"I’m really proud to have Hanwell Zoo in the heart of our borough – it’s a real gem for both local people and visitors from far and wide. The zoo also plays a vital role in conservation and education programmes and this would not be possible without the support of our wonderful visitors and volunteers, so I thank everyone involved."

The zoo is open from 10am – 4pm every day with the extra activities taking place between 12pm and 3pm from Saturday 20 to Sunday 28 October. Find out more on Hanwell Zoo Facebook page or online at www.hanwellzoo.co.uk.
