Murder in Southall

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after a murder in Southall.

Police were called at 23:12hrs on Saturday, 30 July, to a report of a man injured at Spikes Bridge Road, Southall.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and found a 33-year-old man at the location suffering from a number of stab injuries.

He was taken by LAS to a London hospital where he was pronounced dead at around 06:30hrs.

Officers believe they know the identity of the deceased, but await formal identification.

A post mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

A 24-year-old man [A] was arrested on Sunday, 31 July, on suspicion of murder. He has been taken to a north London police station, where he remains in custody.

An incident room has opened in Hendon under Detective Chief Inspector Mark Lawson.

DCI Lawson said: "I need to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, especially in the Viking Road and Spikes Bridge Road area from around 11pm on Saturday night.

"I also want to trace a car which was seen driving in the area immediately before the assault. The car, which may be a Vauxhall, is thought to have contained three or four males."

Update:

The man who died following a stabbing has been named as 33-year old Sukhjinder Singh from Southall.

Five men have now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
