Plaque ceremony and vigil for Blair Peach and Gurdip Singh Chaggar outside Southall Town Hall.
4pm Film Show - showing of BBC Documentary Southall on Trial made in August 1979 by community activists on the events on April 1979. Due to limited space inside Southall Town Hall, entry will only be available to individual who reserved their places in advance.
5pm: Plaque ceremony for Blair Peach, Gurdip Singh Chaggar and People’s Unite Musicians Cooperative.
The ceremony will be opened by the family of Gurdip Singh Chaggar and Blair Peach’s partner at Southall Town Hall. Councillor Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council, will be present.
5:30m: Candlelit vigil outside Southall Town Hall followed by vigil and flowers at the corner of Orchard and Beachcroft Ave, where Blair Peach was fatally attacked by the Metropolitan Police’s Special Patrol Group.
