According to the Stroke Association

• Stroke, cancer and heart disease are the top three causes of death in the UK
• Stroke is a leading cause of adult disability. In the UK at least 300,000 people live with some disability as a result of stroke
• Stroke costs the economy £7 billion every year in health and care costs

The Stroke Association's main focus is to support people who have had a stroke and their families. They do this by providing information and community services.
