Ealing Music and Film (Valentine) Festival 2015
Start Date: Tue 10 Feb 2015End Date: Sun 15 Feb 2015
Time: Various times
The Ealing Music & Film Festival returns in 2015 with yet another splendid programme of events to reflect the rich and varied music and film heritage of one of London's most culturally enriched boroughs. This year's focus is on Poland, a great European nation with a proud historical presence in Ealing.
The Festival programme celebrates Ealing's Polish connections with jewels of music and cinema, some well known and others seen and heard for the first time. It will take place from 10 - 15 February 2015 in and around central Ealing. The Festival is proud to continue its close association with the University of West London and Ealing Studios and other major venues include the Town Hall, the Church of St Barnabas and Ealing Abbey.
There will be three fantastic orchestral concerts, from the English Chamber Orchestra, Ealing Symphony Orchestra and Ealing Youth Orchestra and also more intimate performances taking in the piano music of Frederic Chopin played by virtuoso Julia Samojlo, the incredible choir Tenebrae who contrast the pure beauty of music by Renaissance masters Palestrina and Victoria with the work of Pawel Lukaszewski, a contemporary composer from Poland known worldwide for his ethereal settings of Latin text and live band TJ "Holyboy" Johnson and the Preachers playing a mix of music including Chicago Blues and Hendrix style RnB.
