Ealing Living Wage Celebration

Date: Mon 14 Nov 2022
Time: 6 - 8 pm
Description:
West London College, Ealing Citizens UK and Ealing Council working to encourage local employers to offer the London Living Wage.

The event takes place during the Living Wage Week 14 - 20 November 2022.

The London Living Wage rate is currently £11.05 an hour and will go up to £11.95 an hour from April 2023. We are campaigning for all employers to pay the London Living Wage, which has been independently calculated as the minimum wage based on the cost of living.

The Government’s legal minimum wage is £9.50 and for those under 23, it is £9.18. It does not recognise that the cost of living is higher in London

Goals of the London Living Wage event

  • Celebrate London Living Wage employers in Ealing including: Ealing Council, Heathrow as well as other London Living Wage employers who we hope to be at the event
  • Encourage other local employers to commit to London Living Wage accreditation
  • Build relationships with bigger employers for longer term engagement around making LB Ealing a living wage borough

At the event you will:

  • Hear from Lydia Reddyhoff of the London Living Wage campaign
  • Hear from Ealing Council Leader Peter Mason and other local councillors
  • Hear from employers who pay the London Living Wage
  • Meet and network with London Living Wage employers and find out about potential job opportunities
