Join us for our upcoming Author Talks event on June 22nd, featuring Gita Ralleigh, the poet and writer behind 'The Destiny of Minou Moonshine'.

Gita embarked on her professional journey as an NHS doctor, born to Indian immigrant parents in London, before transitioning into a writer. Her work has been featured in publications such as Wasafiri, Bellevue Literary Review, Magma Poetry, and The Rialto. Additionally, she imparts her knowledge of creative writing to science undergraduates, holding an MA in Creative Writing and an MSc in Medical Humanities.

Gita released her poetry collection 'A Terrible Thing' in 2020, published by Bad Betty Press. Following this, in 2022, her second poetry book titled 'Siren' was published by Broken Sleep Books.

In 2023, Gita released her debut novel for young readers 'The Destiny of Minou Moonshine', a fantasy book set in an alternate India. It follows the adventures of Minou Moonshine, a fierce orphan girl on a quest to save her queendom from dark powers, and was longlisted for the Branford Boase Award in 2024.

The Sher Jung Foundation is thrilled to announce that copies of 'The Voyage of Sam Singh' will be available for purchase ahead of the official release date.

The event will be held upstairs at Parkside Yards Southall, located in The Green Quarter. Tickets are priced at £10 and include pizza. The venue is conveniently situated within a 10-minute walk from Southall Station on the Elizabeth Line, and it's also accessible via multiple bus routes.
