SACA Charity Bike Ride 2024

Date: Sun 21 Jul 2024
Time: 2 - 3 pm
Description:
Today marks the conclusion of the annual Birmingham to London charity bike ride, organized by the Sikh Arts & Cultural Association (SACA).

This year is especially significant for the Charity Bike Ride as they celebrate four decades of dedication, community, and passion for change.

Since 1984, a group of riders have been pedaling with a purpose, uniting cyclists from across the nation to support incredible causes. These rides have transformed countless lives and supported numerous children’s charities.

Hundreds of cyclists coming from the Hayes direction, will be joyously cheered along Southall Broadway as they make their way towards their ultimate destination, Southall Park.

Those who successfully complete the ride will be recognized and awarded medals as a token of appreciation for their remarkable effort.

I am confident we all agree that supporting this noble cause is of utmost importance. It brings immense satisfaction to witness the cyclists being uplifted by the public's encouragement.

The cyclists are expected to reach Southall Broadway between 2 and 3 pm. If you can, we encourage you to join us in cheering them on as they head to their final destination at Southall Park.

As is tradition, the ride selects a children's charity as the beneficiary each year. This year, they are raising funds for Queen Elizabeth Hospital, supporting children's health initiatives. Notably, last year's funds went to the Home From Home Appeal, which provides free accommodation for children and young people with cancer and their families.

Over the last 37 years, the ride has successfully raised over £650,000 to support sick and critically ill children.
