Trafalgar Square will host celebrations to mark Diwali, the Festival of Light, on Sunday 28 October 2007. The celebrations will see the square transformed by magical light displays, floating lanterns, and music and dance performances.

Entry free - all welcome

Diwali on the Square, a wonderful day for all the family, will start start with traditional Indian garba folk dancing plus sari wearing demonstrations. There will be many stalls open from noon with tasty vegetarian food, children's crafts corner, Diwali exhibition, henna painting and much more.

The stage show (starts 3.30 pm) has the following themes:

• Music and Dance from states of India
• Symbols of India including peacock dance
• Welcoming Lord Rama and Diwali celebrations
