Health visiting and school nursing services in Ealing will be delivered by Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH).

From October, a new initiative will also be launched to ensure vulnerable families receive additional support from the anti-natal stage through to two years. This is alongside the existing Family Nurse Partnership programme, which provides support to vulnerable, first time young mothers.

School nursing staff will also play an important role in assisting schools in their duties to support pupils with medical conditions.

Councillor Binda Rai, cabinet member for adults’ services and public health said "We are very pleased to be working with CLCH in delivering this important public health service, the Healthy Child Programme. Giving children the best start in life is fundamental to improving their life chances, and this service is key to promoting health and wellbeing in the early years. Looking after our children now will give them a head start for the future."

Councillor Yvonne Johnson, cabinet member for schools and children’s services said "We are particularly pleased that the service will be working in an integrated way with our local children’s centres, so that local families experience NHS health visitors and local authority children’s centres as one service."

"Working in partnership with Local Authority colleagues such as social workers and early help means we’ll be in a strong position to further develop the Early Start Ealing 0-19 service and provide the best possible care."

CLCH staff will be running a number of support groups across Ealing, including breastfeeding, peri-natal mental health and healthy weight, the details of which will be available on www.clch.nhs.uk from 1st October 2018.
