Eid ul Fitr Salah Times
Wed 12 May 2021Due to the coronavirus restrictions mosques will provide up to 6 Eid services for the attendees. They will have to follow their current covid guidelines of wearing masks, bringing own prayer mats, no children under 12 and only males allowed.
People are advised not to shake hands or hug each other. They are also urged to celebrate at home and contact friends and relatives remotely.
Celebration on Southall Broadway will only result in more pain and suffering for everyone.
Ealing Council is also advising everyone to celebrate Eid safely. "Protect your friends and family by meeting as a group of six or two households only, at a safe distance outdoors. The more people you meet, the more likely you are to get infected."
The Eid salah times are:
Jamia Masjid, Townsend Road - 5:45, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 and 10:30
AbuBakr Mosque, The Broadway - 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00 am
Central Jamia Masjid, Montague Waye – 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30
Darussalam Masjid, Hayes Road – 8:00 and 9:00
Before the Eid prayer, a fitrana (charitable donation) must be given before the end of the month of Ramadan, for the love of Almighty. It is obligatory on every self-supporting adult Muslim who has food in excess of their needs. It is to provide food for the needy. The monetary value (of the food) is approximately £5. This amount needs to be paid for EVERY member of the household.
Many people will be donating and collecting money for the brutally oppressed Palestinians who STILL see no hope of freedom due to the full support given by the ”democratic and free” Western powers to the oppressors and colonisers.
Eid Mubarak. If you have a local news story, share it with the rest of Southall, by using the contact form.
