Reporting Noisy neighbours to Ealing Council
Thu 07 Oct 2021
Hello Ealing Police,
I want to make a complaint about loud noises coming from a certain property.
Sorry that is the responsibility of Ealing Council
Hello Ealing Council,
I want to make a complaint about loud noises coming from a certain property 5 streets away.
Sorry, you can’t do that. It’s too far away for it to be a nuisance to you.
What?
If the nearby residents do not make a complaint – we will do nothing about it. It does not matter how much noise that household is making or what time they are making it. We will ONLY take noise levels at the house of the person making the complaint.
ONE of the top 3 priorities of Ealing Council (based on residents demands) is: Fighting inequality - relentlessly tackling poverty and inequality that blights too many lives and disproportionately holds back all too many people from achieving their dreams and aspirations.
Is that “relentlessly tackling” … “inequality that blights too many lives”?
Is that keeping “a tight focus on anti-social behaviour”?
Is that how, the cabinet, the council’s main decision-making body, is helping drive forward the priorities and making sure that Ealing Council services are meeting the resident’s needs.
This clearly demonstrates how much Ealing Council CARES for the wellbeing of Southall (or any other) residents.
You will just have to put up with Anti-Social Behaviour is the message to residents.
Are our elected councillors aware of this?
Do they care?
We will come and visit your property, when it’s your turn and we are free.
We are free. Is the nuisance happening now?
No, so a visit is pointless.
30 minutes later the nuisance restarts.
Do you start the process again?
Surely, you know the location of the problem and you can knock on a few doors to enquire, so that the problem can be resolved?
Third consecutive night of noise pollution until midnight, not as before, but still unnecessary ASB for residents?
Is it worth calling Ealing Police or Ealing Council?
Is that why many residents do not bother to complain?
Some residents grin and bear it.
Some residents don’t know how to complain.
Some residents expect others to complain about it.
Some don’t have any expectation that the Police or Council will do anything to resolve the problem.
Ah, no problems reported, so everything is wonderful, as long as we keep out ears and eyes shut.
Surely very loud music that can heard outside any property at midnight is unacceptable and THAT property should be investigated.
If you ring the Police to report an incident, will they turn up at your home address or where the incident is happening, to see what is happening? If you have a local news story, share it with the rest of Southall, by using the contact form.
