Eid ul Fitr 2022 Salah Times

Sat 30 Apr 2022
All of Southall will be celebrating Eid-al-Fitr on Monday 2nd May 2022.

The mosques will be overflowing with worshippers in the morning, with 5 to 6 services at each mosque starting as early as 6:00 am.

Southall and Southall Broadway is well known for very bad traffic congestion. On Sunday evening and night it will be much worse with people celebrating Eid-al-Fitr without any consideration for others. Find alternatives routes of travel.

The Eid salah times are:
Jamia Masjid, Townsend Road - 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 10:00 and 11:00
AbuBakr Mosque, The Broadway - 6:15, 7:15, 8:15, 9:15 and 10:15
Central Jamia Masjid, Montague Waye – 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30 & 10:30

Before the Eid prayer, a fitrana (charitable donation) must be given before the end of the month of Ramadan, for the love of Almighty. It is obligatory on every self-supporting adult Muslim who has food in excess of their needs. It is to provide food for the needy. The monetary value (of the food) is approximately £5. This amount needs to be paid for EVERY member of the household.

The mosques, local council and the Police advise that those people who are celebrating do so safely, peacefully and without unwelcome disturbances, whilst at the same time minimising the disruption caused to other communities, residents, businesses and transport systems.

Anyone who intends to visit family or friends during the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr in the Southall, is encouraged to use public transport.

It's only Saturday evening and you can notice the difference. More people around. More cars around. Lots of cars parked on the pavements of Southall Broadway.

Traffic on Southall Broadway on Sunday evening and night (and maybe Monday evening and night) will be moving very slowly.

Eid Mubarak.
