Ealing Hospital reintroduce masks after COVID spike

Sun 17 Jul 2022
A spike in Covid-19 cases means patients coming into Ealing Hospital must now wear masks in clinical areas and waiting rooms.

Ealing and Northwick Park hospitals have both reported an increase in admissions of people with the virus, but says that the majority of people continue to show relatively mild symptoms.

Helen Hardy, Deputy Head Nurse for LNWH, said: "We are adopting a more cautious approach but there will be no changes to our current visiting policy."

"It’s about protecting our most vulnerable patients and staff so we are asking visitors to wear PPE and masks in wards and clinical areas."

The running down of Ealing Hospital under the guise of improving services

The maternity unit at Ealing Hospital closed on 1 July 2015.

In 2016 changes were made to children’s services at Ealing Hospital designed to improve care across NW London. As a result the 16-bed Charlie Chaplin ward closed on 30 June 2016, which meant that A&E services for children were REMOVED from Ealing Hospital.

Many other services were planned to be axed but residents and doctors (risking their jobs) objected to ALL these closures.
