Southall residents visit to Parliament
Thu 15 Sep 2022The motivation behind the trip was to take local residents to Westminster for their first time.
They were accompanied by a group of ladies from the Jubilee Yoga Group.
Following a very damp start, the group of over 40+ people really enjoyed the visit to the historic buildings.
After a tour of the site, they had a meeting in the Jubilee Room which was hosted by Seema Malhotra MP.
They had speeches, presentations and even a Giddha dance performance
The visit was arranged by Jaskaran Singh of the West London Asian Society through Seema Malhotra MP. Prizes were given out to her and some sponsors at the end of the visit.
Awards were presented to James Jerald (British Keralites Association ), Raj Kumar (sponsor), Bambos Charalambous MP and an up and coming actress, Seher.
The trophies were purely to show their appreciation to individuals who had helped on the day or in arranging for the visit.
The Punjab National Bank were one of the sponsors.
The visit was enjoyed by all but by the time they came home, the news of the Queenâs death had been made public everywhere.
