Southall man sentenced for possession of heroin

Ranjit Baden, 40 [11/11/1982] of West End Road, Southall was sentenced to six months imprisonment for possession of heroin, at Isleworth Crown Court, on 31 October 2022.

Baden was stopped by officers from the Lady Margaret Safer Neighbourhood Team on Northcote Avenue in Southall on 23 July 2022, after he was seen in an alleyway. The officers conducted a section 23 misuse of drugs search and found five wraps of class a drugs, heroin, in his pocket. He was then arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

In interview, Ranjit Baden admitted to possession of the drugs. He was charged and taken to court. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months imprisonment in October 2022.

PC Daniel Martinez, Lady Margaret Safer Neighbourhoods Team said, “The West Area Safer Neighbourhood Teams are dedicated to dealing with the issues raised by our residents. We will continue to tackle and disrupt those intent on supplying and using drugs on our streets.”
