Coronation celebrations that took place on Friday

Coronation celebrations took place at various places in Southall on the last working day of the week.

Coronation flags were raised over all of the Ealing borough’s town halls on Friday 5th May 2023. At Ealing Town Hall, the Leader of the Council, Cllr Peter Mason and the Mayor, Cllr Mohinder Midha proudly raised the flag together.

The coronation flag was also raised at Southall Town Hall by Cllr Peter Mason, the Leader of the Council on Friday 5th May 2023.

Ealing Southall MP Virendra Sharma was delighted to join Southall Community Alliance at Southall Town Hall in celebrating Saturday's coronation and cutting the cake together with his wife, Nirmala.

At the Coronation Tea and Cake Party they had face painting and mehndi outdoors and cake and tea inside.

Featherstone High School marked the Coronation of King Charles III on Saturday at FHS. On Friday, the school hall was filled with bunting and flags and the canteen served a British menu of coronation quiche, fish & chips, Victoria sponge and scones with cream and jam.

Havelock Primary School celebrated the King’s coronation with a whole day of activities including an assembly, singing and a talent show. They will be sharing that and more in next week’s Newsletter.

Khalsa Primary School tweeted "Even our Punjabi displays are turning red, white and blue today. Enjoy the coronation celebrations."

Southall Library is having free special coronation crafts session for children on Saturday 6th May 2023 at 2.00pm
