The SCA Southall Community Awards 2023
Mon 27 Nov 2023The schedule for the evening, featured the awards presentation across five categories, a musical performance, a community raffle, and a delightful meal.
The event began with the opening remarks from Harsev Bains, SCA Chair, and Cllr Mohinder Midha, former Mayor of Ealing. The evening was enriched by a captivating musical performance by the Featherstone Primary School choir.
SCA received a wide array of nominations of individuals teams and businesses and awards were presented to a diverse range of deserving recipients.
The awards handed out were categorized into five distinct categories:
- Southall’s Best
- Young Southall
- Team of the Year
- Community Business
- Leadership and Inspiration
The ceremony concluded with the bestowment of two legacy awards in honour of the late Avtar Singh Lit and the iconic 'Godfather of Bhangra,' Channi Singh.
The success of the event was made possible by the support of the sponsors, dedicated trustees, and the invaluable contributions of our outstanding volunteers.
Admission was free for all award nominees and children. To ensure the sustainability of the event, SCA implemented a fee of £15 per guest to cover the venue expenses, as well as food and refreshments.
SCA had invited nominations for individuals, teams, or groups who have excelled, demonstrated community activism, or are unsung heroes dedicating their time and efforts to assist others.
The deadline for nominations was Monday, 30 November 2023.
This presents a wonderful chance to celebrate individuals who have been making remarkable contributions in Southall.
