Changes to rubbish and recycling collections this Christmas 2023
Tue 19 Dec 2023These changes are due to the festive bank holidays. Residents and businesses are asked to check their revised schedule to ensure that their bins are collected as part of the regular service.
Refuse and recycling collections will change from Christmas Day and return to normal service Monday, 15 January 2024.
Rubbish and recycling should be left at the front of the property, not on the pavement, by 7am on the collection day.
Your Christmas tree can be easily recycled in a environmentally friendly way. Leave it out as part of your kerbside rubbish and recycling collections, or by dropping it off at a local park or recycling centre.
Tree trunks should not exceed 20cm in diameter or be more than six feet tall (taller trees can be cut in two). Please make sure that all decorations are removed. This service is available from Wednesday 3 January to Friday 2 February, 2024 and for real trees only, not synthetic ones.
You can take Christmas trees to the following council parks
- Southall Park (Green Drive)
- Spikes Bridge Park (West Avenue)
