Warehouse Fire in Southall
Wed 09 Oct 2024
The fire damaged half of the first floor and the roof of the warehouse. Thanks to the swift action of the fire crews, ten people were safely evacuated, and fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
Due to the large amount of smoke produced by the fire, local residents were advised to keep their windows and doors closed and stay indoors.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson stated: "The fire has generated a substantial amount of smoke, and we urge residents to remain indoors and keep windows and doors shut. Some road closures are still in effect, and we advise drivers to avoid the Norwood Road area due to ongoing traffic congestion."

Although the fire has now been extinguished, firefighters are expected to remain on site throughout the day to monitor and extinguish any remaining hotspots.

The Brigade's Control Officers received nearly 40 emergency calls regarding the incident. Fire crews from Southall, Heston, Hayes, and nearby stations responded swiftly to the scene. A 32-metre turntable ladder is being used to provide the Incident Commander with enhanced situational awareness.
The fire was brought under control by 8:51 AM. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
