Warehouse Fire in Southall

Wed 09 Oct 2024
Early this morning, a major fire broke out at a two-storey warehouse on Beverley Road in Southall. Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called to the scene to contain the blaze.

The fire damaged half of the first floor and the roof of the warehouse. Thanks to the swift action of the fire crews, ten people were safely evacuated, and fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

Due to the large amount of smoke produced by the fire, local residents were advised to keep their windows and doors closed and stay indoors.

Although the fire has now been extinguished, firefighters are expected to remain on site throughout the day to monitor and extinguish any remaining hotspots.

The Brigade's Control Officers received nearly 40 emergency calls regarding the incident. Fire crews from Southall, Heston, Hayes, and nearby stations responded swiftly to the scene. A 32-metre turntable ladder is being used to provide the Incident Commander with enhanced situational awareness.

The fire was brought under control by 8:51 AM. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
