The SCA Southall Community Awards 2024

The Southall Community Alliance (SCA) hosted the fourth Southall Community Awards Evening at Featherstone High School on Saturday, 23rd November 2024.

The Community Awards Evening is designed to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of volunteers and community activists in Southall. The SCA and our trustees are thrilled to have the opportunity to highlight the very best of Southall's community spirit.

The SCA received a wide range of nominations for individuals, teams, and businesses, with awards presented to a diverse group of deserving recipients.

The awards were organized into five distinct categories:

  • Southall’s Best
  • Young Southall Award
  • Team of the Year
  • Community Business Award
  • Leadership and Inspiration Award

Seventeen individuals and groups were honoured with community awards in a well-organized event held in the packed school hall.

The awards were presented by:

  • The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Yvonne Johnson
  • Deirdre Costigan, MP for Ealing Southall
  • MP Virendra Sharma. The recent MP for Ealing Southall
  • Holly Thomas, Deputy Headteacher at Featherstone High School

The evening concluded with a raffle prize draw, followed by delicious food and refreshments..

The event required significant effort and coordination from the SCA trustees and staff, who were wonderfully supported by nine sixth form students from Featherstone High School.

The Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Yvonne Johnson, expressed her gratitude, saying, I am "honoured to present at Southall Community Alliance Community Volunteers Awards Ceremony."

Kuldip Gill tweeted, "What a wonderful evening and truly blessed to have been nominated and win one of the SOUTHALLs best awards.”.

Featherstone High School tweeted, "An amazing evening at the Southall Community Alliance awards. Huge congratulations to Jess, Mohammed, and Rayjolina for winning community trophies. Big thanks to our 6th Form volunteers for helping make it all happen."

Featherstone Primary & Nursery School tweeted, "A wonderful opportunity to celebrate the Southall Community as our Featherstone Choir took to the stage, opening the awards of the Southall Community Alliance Celebration Evening."
