Southall Sports Centre one of the UK’s best
Wed 14 Nov 2007In the UK, the Quest accreditation is recognised as the Quality Scheme for Sport and Leisure. It defines standards, good practice and encourages improvement.
Southall Sports Centre, in Beaconsfield Road, was awarded an overall score of 75 per cent in their Quest accreditation and is now among the top 10 per cent of sports facilities.
Councillor Nigel Sumner, Cabinet Member for Health and Community Well-Being, said: “This was our first Quest inspection for the Southall centre and I’m really impressed with the high score.
“I would like to commend the centre manager Andrew Rogers and everyone else involved in making Southall Sports Centre such a success.”
The centre boasts a gym, fitness classes and sauna. It is also home to one of the UK's leading table tennis clubs, London Progress Table Tennis Club, and there is also a sports hall available for cricket, badminton, netball and other activities.
Dormers Wells Leisure Centre, Dormers Wells Lane, achieved Quest accreditation this year.
These 2 sports centres and the Featherstone Sports Centre are managed by the Council’s Active Ealing Team.
