Community rallies to support grieving daughter after sudden loss of father
Mon 27 Jan 2025
Gurjant, an Indian immigrant who had dedicated his life to building a better future for his family, was found dead in Norwood Green park on Friday, 17 January 2025.
He had only recently been reunited with his daughter when she moved to England to live with him. Tragically, his unexpected passing has left Khushi to navigate life in a new country without her father's support. She is currently residing with her father's friends.
In addition to the emotional toll, Khushi faces significant financial challenges, including outstanding debts related to visa costs, housing expenses, and funeral arrangements.
To assist her during this difficult time, a fundraiser has been organized by Aman Sanghera to ease the financial burden on Khushi during this heartbreaking time. Your kind contributions will go towards:
- Funeral costs to honor her father’s memory.
- Outstanding visa and housing expenses that have accumulated.
- Living expenses to provide her with some stability in the months ahead.
As of January 27, 2025, the fundraiser has garnered substantial support, raising £31,484 from 1,300 donations, nearing its £35,000 goal.
The organizers emphasize that no donation is too small, and every contribution will help alleviate Khushi's financial burden, allowing her to focus on healing and rebuilding her life.

The community's response has been heartfelt, reflecting the collective desire to support Khushi, just as her father worked tirelessly to support those around him.
