A fatal road traffic collision occurred at the junction of South Road with Park Avenue in Southall on Tuesday, 2 September 2025.

Emergency services responded promptly, but tragically, man in his 60s died at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released.

“He was a well-known person who lived on Beaconsfield Road Southall since the year 1964” wrote a local resident on Facebook.

The crash led to the closure of South Road in both directions for several hours while investigators examined the scene. The disruption caused significant delays on nearby roads, including Southall Broadway and Merrick Road, and several bus routes in the area were temporarily diverted. Local commuters and residents were advised to seek alternative routes.

There have been no arrests and the driver of the HGV is assisting police with their enquiries which are ongoing.

The Metropolitan Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam footage from around 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, to come forward to assist the investigation.

Councillors and community representatives described the collision as a “serious incident” and expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the victim.

Investigators are continuing their inquiries to determine the cause of the crash.
