Southall residents urged to vote in local elections
Tue 05 May 2026
Some voters will be taking part for the first time this year, whether due to turning 18, recently moving into the area, or gaining the right to vote. Others may be returning after a break. Whatever your situation, this is an opportunity to have your say in local decisions that affect the community.
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. Your polling card will show the location of your station, although you do not need to bring it with you. You can also check your polling station details on the council website if needed.
Voters will be choosing councillors in their local ward. Across the borough, most wards elect three councillors, while a small number elect two. A full list of candidates is available online, helping residents make an informed choice before heading to the polls.
To vote in person, you must bring an acceptable form of photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence. If you do not have suitable ID, you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate through the council. At the polling station, staff will check your details and guide you through the process.
Support is available for voters who need it. Polling stations are equipped with accessibility measures such as ramps, low-level booths and large-print ballot papers. Staff are also on hand to assist and ensure everyone can vote with confidence and privacy.
Make sure you are prepared and take the time to vote on Thursday.
