A Southall resident has shared concerns about the potential impact of proposed data centre developments in the area, including issues around energy use, noise, heat and the local environment.

The resident said they were worried that the growth of large-scale data centres linked to the expansion of artificial intelligence could place additional pressure on communities and local infrastructure.

They raised concerns about the possible effects of data centres, including their energy requirements, water use, noise levels and the heat generated by large computing facilities.

The resident said Southall is already experiencing significant development and population pressures, and believes proposals for major infrastructure projects should receive careful examination.

They also expressed concerns about the potential impact on local green spaces and the wider environment, including changes they feel have already affected wildlife and biodiversity in the area.
