Sat 15 Dec 2007There will be 3 to 4 prayers sessions at each of the mosques. The times are as follows:
- Abubakr Mosque, The Broadway - 8.30 am, 9:30 am, 10.30 am

Around the UK the Eid will take place on Wednesday or Thursday.
After the Eid prayers, for 3 days millions of animals will be offered as Qurbani (sacrifice) through out the world. This is to show gratitude towards Allah (God) and to provide meat for the poor and needy.
Irrespective of where they reside, a lot of Muslims, especially in the UK, offer qurbani in poorer areas of the world, so that:
- All the meat from the sacrifice is distributed to the poorest and most needy communities, including widows and orphans
- The animals are purchased locally so this help local farmers and their community
Due to a lot of activity on Southall Broadway on such occasion, there will be Police restrictions on traffic going through Southall in the evenings for several days. Non-residents are advised to avoid the area. Residents are advised to carry proof of residence to avoid too much inconvenience.
Before the Eid prayers, the advice of the mosque Imams and the Police has always been to spend the day at home with your family and friends. If you have a local news story, share it with the rest of Southall, by using the contact form.
