Two Southall brothers jailed for life
Sat 23 Feb 2008Two Southall brothers have been given life sentences for murdering a rival on their door step.
In January 2007, Rakesh Raithatha and some of his friends went to confront the Powar brothers at their family home in Tilney Road, Southall, about an alleged robbery.
On arrival 34-year-old Rakesh Raithatha was attacked with a hockey stick, repeated kicked and stamped on by the brothers Kulwinder Powar, 27, and Harbinder Powar, 21. He died in hospital a few hours after the attack.
Earlier this month the brothers were found guilty of murder at the Old Bailey and last week a judge gave both of them life terms. Harbinder is to serve a minimum of 15 years and Kulvinder at least 16 yearsIf you have a local news story, share it with the rest of Southall, by using the contact form.
