This Friday, a prominent religious scholar, who happens to be visiting the UK, agreed at short notice to once again offer his words of wisdom to the people of Southall.
Such is the fame of poet and saint Peer Naseer Uddin Naseer that this weekly gathering resembled the bigger monthly events that also take place at the mosque.
On Saturday, the Abu Bakr mosque on Southall Broadway held its annual end of year Jalsa and awards ceremony.
This was to celebrate and reward the children and teachers for their effort and commitment during the past year.
There are 14 evening and 12 weekend classes that take place at the mosque.
The children recited the Quran, sang nasheeds and read poetry.
As well as prizes being awarded for achieving results, there were prizes for effort put in.If you have a local news story, share it with the rest of Southall, by using the contact form.
