Balochistan earthquake Fund Raiser at TKC
Sun 02 Nov 2008The province of Balochistan was truck by an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 on Wednesday 29th October 2008. Several hundred tremors have followed the initial devastation.
Well over 200 people were killed by the initial devastation and the death toll is expected to rise. Up to 50,000 people are thought to be homeless due to the disaster.
Thousands of survivors in the impoverished province of Balochistan are desperately waiting for relief in freezing conditions.
"We have nothing left to save our families from the cold."
International and Pakistani agencies are struggling to get help to the survivors. Some have received no help so far.
Update: £10,000 was raised on the night and this is expected to double in the next few days.
