Boxing champion Amir Khan revisits Southall
Sun 01 Mar 2009
On his way back from his training in Los Angeles, he visited his friend Dalawar Chaudhry at Chaudhry’s TKC on Southall Broadway.
He arrived at the unexpected time of 10 am in the morning when no activity usually takes place in restaurants. He also brought along some of his boxing companions and spent around 2 hours at the restaurant.
He was happy to chat with the children and be photographed with them.
On his earlier visit in January, Mr Chaudhry said: "Amir is the ideal role model" and has a positive impact on the youth and the wider community.
Amir donated his boxing gloves so that they could be used for a charity event at the restaurant.
He formally announced that he will be the role model for the youth of Southall and will return to fulfil his role.
Amir Khan will fight Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera on 14th March.
