Residents have until the end of next week to share their views on how they would like to see thousands of pounds spent on improving the Brent River Park.

Brent River Park is made up of a series of open spaces along the River Brent in Ealing and Hanwell.

It is one of ten open spaces across the capital to win cash in the Mayor of London’s Priority Parks scheme.

More than 4,600 people voted for the park and Ealing Council has received a £400,000 grant to make the river park cleaner, safer and greener.

The council has been consulting with residents and working with the GLA to finalise the project plans. People can still have a say until 19 June by emailing parks@ealing.gov.uk.

Councillor Phil Taylor, Cabinet Member for Customer and Community Services, said: "It is thanks to the people who voted that we now have this money, and we want to hear from them."

"The park is for everyone to enjoy so it’s important that residents tell us what they want from their open spaces. This is an exciting project and we are looking to make the improvements as soon as possible."

Proposals for how the grant will be used include:

• improving the animal centre at Brent Lodge Park
• improving walking routes
• undertaking new planting
• installing a fitness trail
• installing more bins
• developing new signage

The Parks Team will be holding an event in Brent Lodge Park, Church Road, Hanwell, on Sunday 5 July from 11am-1pm so people can find out more about the final plans for the park.
