Ealing services affected by snowfall

Thu 07 Jan 2010
Most Ealing Council services have been operating normally despite the recent bad weather, although there has been some disruption.

The refuse and recycling collections were disrupted today and Ealing council is working to return the service to normal as quickly as possible.

Residents should put their refuse and recycling out for collection on the normal day, although it might be necessary for the council to collect it later in the week if crews cannot get round all roads.

Street cleaning staff are also assisting with gritting and twenty nine teams are now working around the clock.

The council is asking residents to be good neighbours by checking that their elderly or vulnerable neighbours are safe, warm and have essential supplies.

Day centres were open today for anyone who had their own transport but the day centre transport service was suspended today.

The following schools in Southall were closed today (Thursday 7 January).

  • Blair Peach Primary School
  • Clifton Primary School
  • Durdans Park Primary School
  • Grove House Childrens Centre
  • Hambrough Primary School
  • Khalsa School School
  • Lady Margaret Primary School
  • Three Bridges Primary School
  • Tudor Primary School
  • Wolf Fields Primary School
