Book launch of "Champions, again"
Sat 16 Jan 2010With a successful Karachi launch last month, "Champions, again." moves onto the land where the dream of millions was made to become reality by the 16 men in green, the Pakistan squad.
The book comprises articles, exclusive photographs (from Pakistan's matches, training sessions, crowds and players) as well as added thoughts, comment and opinion throughout the 21-days that the Pakistan team was in England.
It takes the readers through the rollercoaster ride, from the depths of despair against India at The Oval to the reaching the heights of ecstacy against Sri Lanka at Lord's.
Pakistan's winning captain, Younis Khan, has also contributed to the book - its opening chapter - where he shares his thoughts on the planning phases prior to the tournament as well as lifting the morale of the team with three defeats that left Pakistan's hopes of survival hanging by a thread.
The London launch took place at Chaudhry's TKC restaurant in Southall on Friday 15th January at 6.30 pm. In attendance were the author, cricket followers and enthusiasts. Copies of the book were available for purchase at the event.
