Dalawar Chaudhry of the Chaudhry’s TKC restaurant, Southall Broadway, is standing as an independent councillor in the local elections in May.

Mr Chaudhry is responsible for Chaudhry's TKC restaurant being the official UK caterers to the Pakistan Cricket Team.

His efforts have brought positive role model figures to Southall like the Pakistan and Indian cricketers, World champion boxer, Amir Khan, to speak about being positive citizens.

He has also led and hosted various charity events, like the fundraising initiatives for the South East Asia Tsunami and Kashmir earthquake.

His latest efforts have been to promote Southall as a tourist destination for the London 2012 Olympics and try to get the Pakistan team to stay in Southall.

As well as promoting Southall, he has been active in trying to improve the local area and solve problems like parking for business and resident, as well as tackle anti-social behaviour around the Broadway.

Mr Chaudhry, a local social worker and successful business man, is one of the most active and well known persons in the area. He was born, studied and works in Southall.

Mr Chaudhry believes "the standing councillors and representatives have failed the local community".
