Plans for Southall school go on show

Mon 03 May 2010
The first two schools to be rebuilt and refurbished under Ealing Council's £300 million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) scheme are opening their doors to the public in May.

Dormers Wells High School, Southall and The Cardinal Wiseman School, Greenford will both host BSF Exhibitions to showcase their plans for new school buildings and upgraded ICT.

Cardinal Wiseman's exhibition will take place on Monday 10 May from 4.30- 7.30pm. Dormers Wells' exhibition will take place on Tuesday 11 May from 4.00- 7.30pm. Both events will take place at the schools.

The exhibitions will give visitors the opportunity to view and comment on the plans for the complete rebuild of Dormers Wells High School and the partial new build and major refurbishment of The Cardinal Wiseman School.

Visitors will also be able to ask questions and discuss the plans with the developers, Balfour Beatty Education, and the council. Building work at both schools is scheduled to start in October, subject to planning permission.

Ealing Council's BSF programme is part of a national government scheme to improve and modernise schools. In total, seventeen of the borough's schools will be rebuilt and refurbished and a new high school will be built in Greenford. The programme is funded by the government, the council and schools.
