Abbotts Road and Beaconsfield Road are being resurfaced as part of Ealing Councils road network improvement programme. Murrill Construction Ltd are carrying out the work.

The programme of works for adjustment of kerbs and gullies started on the 05/12/2010 and was to be completed by the 17/12/2010. This was to be followed by road resurfacing.

Parking suspension signs were posted all over Abbotts roads to tell residents and visitors not park the on the relevant days of the road resurfacing.

On Wednesday 15/12/2010 the workers were probably surprised to see the street full of cars and knocked on resident’s door to ask them to move them as soon as possible.

These attempts were only partially successful because the parking suspensions signs had the wrong date on them, Friday 17/12/2100, and it was only Wednesday 15/12/2010.

Due to the fact that the remaining cars could not be legally removed as the owners were not aware of any restriction and the sheer number of cars, the work had to be rescheduled.

The work will now be carried out from Monday 20/12/20101 to Thursday 23/12/2010. Strangely enough, this is the date indicated by the Council to the residents in the first place.

Beaconsfield road is currently being resurfaced and delays around the area can be expected.
