Fans in Southall want Afridi back
Sun 05 Jun 2011Supporters gathered in Southall and chanted slogans in the favour of former captain. They demanded that the board should resolve the issues and make his return possible in the international cricket soon.
The protestors said that they had bought tickets for Hampshire County Championship to watch their favourite star in the field but due to the cancellation of his No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), they will not be able to watch Boom Boom Afridi in action.
The fans expressed their disappointment over the PCB’s action and said that Afridi united the team in the times of worst crises; therefore, the board should reinstate his NOC so that he can return to international cricket.
Organiser Dalawar Chaudhry said "Afridi is a true ambassador and a great Captain who is held in high esteem by fans all over the world."
"He is responsible for delivering world class entertainment on the cricket pitch and off the pitch he is a true humanitarian."If you have a local news story, share it with the rest of Southall, by using the contact form.
