Hit the treasure trail in Southall
Wed 05 Oct 2011The family-orientated, free treasure hunt takes place on Saturday 15 October and anyone can join the walk from Southall Park between 10am and 2.30pm. The route takes approximately 30 minutes and there will be prizes for all of those taking part.
This event has been organised as part of a campaign to promote the benefits of physical exercise by walking.
There will also be historical points of interest pointed out by local historian, Dr Jonathon Oates who will be on the walks starting at 10am and 11am.
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for Transport and Environment, said: "This is a great idea to encourage people out walking in their local area."
"Participants will enjoy looking for hidden treasures in Southall during this event and they might learn something new about the area too."
"Walking is one of the best types of physical exercise we can get and adults are recommended to get at least 30 minutes a day. What’s even better is that we can enjoy our lovely parks, streets and greenspaces at the same time."
You are advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear for this walking event.
