Boyfriend charged over Southall canal murder
Fri 30 Dec 2011Ruby Love, a 23-year-old mother of three who lived with her mother and sister in Harrow, left for a night out at 6pm on 24 December.
Her body was found floating 10 miles away in the Grand Union Canal at Bankside, Southall on Sunday 25 December. A member of the public called the police at around 11:40 am.
A post-mortem examination the following day was not able to establish the cause of death and further tests were carried out.
The boyfriend of Ruby Love, Manzar Juma, 27, of Hexham Gardens, Ealing, appeared at Brent Magistrate Court today charged with her murder.
Ruby had two sons, one aged two, and the other four weeks, by Juma. She also had a nine-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
She was born Rubina Malik. After her Hindu family converted to Christianity they changed their names.
