Two valuable watches stolen in Alexandra Avenue
Tue 17 Apr 2012A 23 year old man was on his way to sell some watches, on Wednesday 15 February 2012, at around 14:30 hrs. When he was walking in Alexandra Avenue, heading towards The Broadway, he was approached by two men who punched him and threw him to the floor.
The suspects grabbed his bag containing the watches and ran off in the direction of West Avenue, Southall.
The victim received hospital treatment and has since been discharged.
The first mugger is described as a white, around 6" tall and aged between 26 to 27. He was wearing a grey scarf around his face, covering his mouth and nose.
The second mugger was black; around 6" tall and also aged around 26 to 27. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper with the hood up and black and white scarf around his face covering his mouth and nose.
The stolen watches are a Choppard White gold watch with black strap with diamonds on and a Choppard Gold watch with a white face, diamonds arranged in various circle shapes around the strap.
The victim had been on his way to sell the watches believed to be valued at between £20,000 and £30,000.
In November 2011 a Birmingham jeweller was robbed in Southall and lost jewellery worth least £100,000.
DC Reuben Pearson said; "This was an unprovoked attack on a man who was going about his day to day business."
"We are appealing not only to try and find these individuals but also to try and locate the stolen watches which are of great value. These are very unique watches so would be recognisable to a business who may intercept it".
