Southall’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations
Sat 02 Jun 2012Ealing residents are getting ready to celebrate with 86 street parties organised by communities across the borough – even more than the 27 held last year for the royal wedding.
The council has helped neighbours get in the party spirit by waiving the fee for street party applications and road closures and providing traffic management and sign posting.
There is a free public event in Southall Park, Uxbridge Road from 10am to 6pm on Sunday 3 June.
It will be a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy themselves and for the Southall community to come together.
There will be 4 stages for the artists and massive LED screens. Artists are coming as far away as India to perform. Local children will put on live displays. The event will be filmed by Star TV.
Organisers estimate that 25,000 people will attend.
The 3 street parties taking place in Southall are:
Day | Street | Area | Time |
---|---|---|---|
Monday | Scotts Road | between numbers 1 – 30 | 12:00 hrs – 21:00 hrs |
Monday | Adelaide Road | between Norwood Road and Lea Road | 12:00 hrs – 18:00 hrs |

Councillor Julian Bell, leader of Ealing Council said: "It’s going to be a very exciting weekend of celebration in Ealing. I’m delighted that so many people across the borough are getting together with family and neighbours to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and pleased that the council is able to support this."
Parking will be free on bank holiday Monday and Tuesday for customers using on street pay and display and shared use parking bays, as well as the council's car parks.
