SACA Charity Bike Ride 2012

The annual SACA charity bike riders arrived in Southall led by Fauja Singh, the amazing 101 year old marathon runner and 2012 Olympics oldest torchbearer.

Today's parade through Southall Broadway was to celebrate the finish of the 23rd annual SACA's Charity Bike Ride (from Birmingham to London), which took take place on the 22st and 22nd of July 2012.

Every July the ride starts from Birmingham. It then proceeds through Coventry, Daventry and then through Bedfordshire before reaching a centennial milestone in Luton.

After an overnight stay, the ride continues in the morning and passes through St Albans, Radlett, Elstree, Harrow and then reaches its final destination in London.

This years’ benefiting charity is Rainbow Trust providing support for terminally ill children and their families across the UK.

Over the years SACA has raised over £300,000 for childrens charities.

The bike rider finished their ride and were parading on Southall Broadway afer 3 pm. They reached Southall Park before 4 pm.

In the park all of the bikers who took part are awarded with a medal in recognition of their 130 mile ride. The medals were presented by the Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Mohammed Aslam and Mayoress Mrs Aslam.
