Among those carrying the Torch in the borough of Ealing were be Southall charity worker and volunteer, Tom Thacker and Narinder Birdi whose long established sunday school and local scout group are still thriving.
This was a "once in a life-time opportunity to see the Olympic Torch travel through Ealing" and lots of people recorded the event on their mobile phones.
The relay reached Lady Margaret Road at 17:30 pm and proceed along Southall High street at 17:45 pm.
The relay had an significant traffic impact but it was hardly noticable on the always crowded roads of Southall.
