Manor House opens its doors to tours

Sun 20 Sep 2015
Ealing Council is opening the doors to Southall Manor House on Tuesday, 22 September 2015 offering residents a behind the scenes tour of the listed building and a chance to hear about future proposals for the site.

The tours will be hosted by Architecture 00 and will start every half hour from 5pm with the last one starting at 7pm. Visitors on the tour will be walked through new proposals for the house which could include a high quality training restaurant, education and training facilities, business support spaces, and a capacity for larger scale events and community activities.

The council plans to spend almost £2 million restoring the historic Grade II listed manor house to bring it back into full use for the community, with funding from the Mayor of London and Ealing Council.

Councillor Steve Hynes, cabinet member for prosperity, skills and employment said: "It is exciting to see the next stage of this innovative project come to fruition. We have been working hard across Southall to make improvements that will increase opportunities for the next generation and this is a great example of that."

"By joining forces with the local colleges, businesses and restaurants we hope to create a real buzz around the Manor House as a place to eat and entertain while giving young people hands on experience in hospitality."

The tours take place in Southall Manor House, The Green, Southall, UB2.
